The city of Fort Worth requires a permit for garage sales be obtained at least 72 hours prior to the sale. Only two garage sales per year are allowed and may not exceed three days. One sign, on your property, is the only sign allowed. It's prohibited to put signs on posts, trees, corners, city property, private property or public property.
How to Obtain a Garage Sale Permit?
Garage Sale Permits can be obtained online at the following website address http://www.fortworthgov.org/planninganddevelopment/permits/default.aspx?id=22228 or by calling 817-392-2222 (phone lines are heavily used and there may be a long wait time on hold), or by applying in-person by visiting the Development Department Permit Desk, 1000 Throckmorton, Fort Worth, Texas.
